Search and rescue teams used illuminating flares to rescue a person in the water in Torquay, UK.
One night in July around midnight, Torbay Coastguard was asked to help Barry Head Coastguard, RNLI Torbay and local police help in the search.
A para-illuminating flare was fired to light up the search area to see if anything could be seen. The inshore lifeboat also joined the search, according to Torbay Coastguard’s Facebook page.
They quickly located the casualty. They took the person onboard and on to the harbour for medical checks and also care from the ambulance service.
A spokesperson says, “This is another great example of the multi-agency work we do around Torbay.”
