Flares have been used in the roadside rescue of an injured owl in Massachusetts, USA.
A state trooper found the injured owl on Route 1 North in Danvers one morning in April, reported WesternMassNews.com. The trooper stood by the bird and set up flares to protect it until Massachusetts Environmental Police could respond and take it to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.
